You might have had fish fries, but have you tried potatoes fried like fish? If not, try this flavourful potato fry, which can be a game changer for your lunch menu.

Ingredients

  • Potato – 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Kashmiri chilli powder – ¾ tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Pepper powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Sambar powder – ¼ teaspoon
  • Garlic – 3–4 cloves
  • Curry leaves – 1 stem
  • Salt – To taste
  • Coconut oil – 2 tablespoons

Preparation

Into a bowl, add the thinly sliced potatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, sambar powder and salt, and mix everything together. Make sure the masala is coated evenly on all the slices. Cover and refrigerate for 5–10 minutes.

Pour the coconut oil into a pan and spread it evenly. Place the potato slices in the pan and add the crushed garlic and curry leaves (they can be removed later or eaten along with the potatoes). Once the potato slices are cooked until golden brown on one side, flip them and cook the other side as well.
